HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE “ZONE” YET?
It’s a pretty amazing place if you have ever experienced it. For some people it happens only once. For others it may happen several times in their business “life”.
For a few (very few) entering the “Zone” never happens – usually as a result of their own actions or lack of actions.
What is the “Zone” and why should you care?
Keep reading…this could be just the information you need to take your business to the highest level a lot faster than you may have thought possible!
Have you ever had a day in your business where it seems like everything went perfect? Maybe you can even look back and remember a specific timeframe (week, month or even year) when it seemed like every decision you made, every action you took, every client you contacted, and every new service or product you offered just seemed to turn out great for you and your business. My guess it was a pretty great ride while it lasted!
That “ride” is called the “Zone” – not a lot different than watching Michael Jordan have one of those nights where nothing could go wrong and he would go on to score 50 points or more in one game. Michael Jordan seemed to find his way into the “Zone” more often than most of the other NBA players and it was not just luck that got him into the “Zone”.
It was hard work, determination, practice and endless dedication to being the best that he could be…
But what does the “Zone” mean to you and your business and why should you be keenly aware that this place exists?
Nearly every business enters the “Zone” at some point. But, only a few recognize that they are in a special place and only a fraction of those that enter the “Zone” leverage it to the highest degree possible while they are there.
Here are just a few signs that you have entered the “Zone”:
Your sales go up significantly but you can’t put your finger on exactly why – it just happens!
Referrals from past customers and clients seem to just take off! It’s not that you had a specific plan to generate the referrals – they just start coming in at a much higher rate than usual.
Your “pipeline” of potential customers and clients just fills up. In fact, just keeping up with all of the inquiries appears to be impossible – but somehow you get it done and they just keep saying “yes”!
There are other signs that you have entered the “Zone” as well but in most cases one of the three mentioned above are part of the mix.
Why are these signs and indicators so important? If you are not paying attention you could miss your “cues” and ignore one of the potentially greatest opportunities for taking your business to an entirely new (and profitable) level.
For most businesses, entering the “Zone” just happens. It’s pretty typical for the “moment in time” to come and then ultimately just go away – quickly or in sort of a slow fade.
So, how do you get your business to the “Zone” and even more importantly how do you keep it there?
Here are a few tips:
To get your business into the “Zone” faster it’s essential to take several marketing and sales “actions” on a consistent basis.
Taking massive action can get you there quicker but implementing even a few sales and marketing tools on a regular basis can speed up the trip significantly – just choose your tools wisely.
Recognize that you are in the “Zone” when you get there.
If and when you find yourself in the “Zone”, leverage it to its fullest extent. The “Zone” is never a permanent place. When you find yourself in the place where everything just seems to be falling into place don’t be surprised – it happens for nearly every business at least once!
When you find the “Zone” or it finds you – take massive action on as many fronts as you possibly can.
Implement tools to attract new clients, follow-up with past clients, throw a client appreciation party, introduce yourself and your business to as many potential clients as possible – and send tons of thank-you notes throughout the process. It’s unlikely you entered the “Zone” all by yourself – recognize those that helped get you there!
The goal is to stay in the “Zone” for as long as you can – it won’t be forever but you can extend the “ride” as long as possible.
When Michael Jordan would get into the “Zone” in a game he didn’t hold back. He took more shots. He didn’t wait for just the easy shots either – he took risks from way outside the three point line and because he was in the “Zone” he would make most of those shots – it’s inevitable when you are in the “Zone”.
Do not take yourself “out of the game” to rest when you are in the “Zone”.
Press harder, run faster, take more risks and don’t worry about losing a little sleep or missing a vacation. There will be plenty of time for relaxing later.
Take this INSIDER Action Step
Define in your own mind what the “Zone” might look like for you and your business. If you and your business were in a perfect place what would it look like? How would it feel? What would be happening?
Now ask yourself: What would you be willing to do to get to the “Zone” and stay there as long as possible?
